breakfast to make everyone at home happy.
Ingredients:
●
Boiled Potato (mashed) - 3 medium-sized
●
Bread slices - 4-5 slices
●
Red chilli flakes - 1 tbsp
●
Garam masala - 1 tbsp
●
Chaat masala - 1 tbsp
●
Cashew (finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
●
Salt - according to taste
●
Soya granules (soaked) – according to taste
●
Chana Dal (split chickpeas) - 1 cup
●
Oil – to fry
●
Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
Method:
●
Heat a pan, add the chana dal and roast it well
for 5-7 minutes on medium heat until golden brown. Keep stirring dal so it
doesn’t burn. Then add Cashew and roast it gets crispy. Let the mixture cool
for some time and then blend the mixture.
●
Now blend Soya granules until their consistency
is that of a paste.
*Soya granules are very healthy but optional and can be
omitted if you don’t like them.
●
Take a big bowl, add mashed potato, garam
masala, chaat masala, chilli flakes, coriander leaves, 4 bread slices (dip the
bread slices in water, squeeze out the water and then add it to the bowl), salt
according to taste, the powdered mixture, soya granules paste and mix it and
mash it well.
*Bread crumbs can be used as well but it does not give a
soft texture. You can use brown bread or cornflour instead of white bread. You
can add vegetables to this as well.
●
Make dough balls and stick in the popsicle stick
into it and make it into a chaap shape.
●
Now heat some oil and fry the chaap until golden
brown.
*The chaap can be shallow fried or grilled as well.
●
Aloo Soya Chaap is ready. Serve it with tomato
sauce or green chutney and enjoy this dish.
